  • How does Tempus actually work?
    You take care of time, we take care of money. Tempus assists in the aspects of your payroll where we can add most value and are economical for us to take off your hands. Once your time-based data is prepared, we compile this into a pay run and send it back to you for approval. If you're happy, we execute the transaction. All the IRD requirements are met and extensive customisable reporting can be sent through to your stakeholders and accounting software. That time-based data we mentioned; most of the work might have been completed on autopilot. It may already be in the system via our rostering, calendars, leave requests, timeclock data, or an integration with your Time and Attendance suite. So with Tempus, you really have to do very little to do!
  • Compliance with legislation
    This is a topic we feel strongly about because Tempus started life (as Payroll Intelligence) auditing payroll that had gone wrong. Our projects often examined tools marketed as “compliant” but had been complicit in mistakes that cost employers dearly. Turns out this software may be “compliant”, until a user touches it then the liabilty shifts. So what's our solution? Everything about Tempus is geared to lessen the burden on the employer: payroll people cannot be expected to run this part of a business and simultaneously be alert for someone else's software going off course. The software used by Tempus, we reviewed the payroll landscape and partnered with the tool that ticked the most boxes. It’s an international powerhouse - the best you can find - but we never blindly trust it. We use Payroll Intelligence technology and their Holidays Act consultants behind the scenes to review your tricky legislative interpretations and make sure the payroll tool is behaving as it should. There is no such thing as guaranteed compliance, but our entire Tempus eco-system has been designed with the best failsafes possible to keep you on pace with New Zealand legislation.
